BOOK EARLY
We are pleased to
announce that for the FOURTH year running Green City Action is again organising
the Abbeyfield Park Multicultural Festival on Sunday July 7th 2002,
last year 6500 people attended. We now get many requests for stalls,
entertainment and workshop bookings and want to ensure that local people have
first priority so please complete the booking form, sign the terms and
conditions and return it to me address as above with an SAE before March 31st
2002.
Our aims
of the Abbeyfield Park Multicultural Festival are:
¨ To
celebrate the rich diversity of the Burngreave Area raising it’s positive
profile and creating greater community harmony
¨ To
provide greater multicultural involvement in environmental issues
¨ To
bring people of all ethnic backgrounds together in a way that is relevant and
appropriate to them respecting their culture
¨ To
provide an opportunity for celebration in Abbeyfield Park enabling people to enjoy
it’s simple pleasures.
¨
To increase awareness of the activities and resources
provided by Green City Action
The festival is our opportunity to
celebrate our rich diversity and culture as we unite to protect the earth
having fun whilst enjoying a multifaceted entertainment and workshops programme
with global food and craft stalls amongst the natural beauty of Abbeyfield
Park.
We welcome and invite the involvement of
local schools and community organisations. We want local global stalls selling
a variety of foods, plants and crafts. If you want to provide food please note
that you must provide a copy of your food and hygiene certificate, or enrol on
the training that we are providing. We welcome entertainers and
workshop/discussion leaders celebrating a wide diversity of cultures in arts,
sports, circus, music, plant care, alternative therapies and natural crafts. We
welcome a carnival parade and lots of colour. Walkabout theatre is also welcome.
Recycling and earth care wanted.
