Our aims of the Abbeyfield Park Multicultural Festival are:

¨      To celebrate the rich diversity of the Burngreave Area raising it’s positive profile and creating greater community harmony

¨      To provide greater multicultural involvement in environmental issues

¨      To bring people of all ethnic backgrounds together in a way that is relevant and appropriate to them respecting their culture

¨      To provide an opportunity for celebration in Abbeyfield Park enabling people to enjoy it’s simple pleasures.

¨      To increase awareness of the activities and resources provided by Green City Action

The festival is our opportunity to celebrate our rich diversity and culture as we unite to protect the earth having fun whilst enjoying a multifaceted entertainment and workshops programme with global food and craft stalls amongst the natural beauty of Abbeyfield Park.

We welcome and invite the involvement of local schools and community organisations. We want local global stalls selling a variety of foods, plants and crafts. If you want to provide food please note that you must provide a copy of your food and hygiene certificate, or enrol on the training that we are providing. We welcome entertainers and workshop/discussion leaders celebrating a wide diversity of cultures in arts, sports, circus, music, plant care, alternative therapies and natural crafts. We welcome a carnival parade and lots of colour. Walkabout theatre is also welcome. Recycling and earth care wanted.

All the best,
