Pitsmoor's last bank needs you

Pitsmoor Credit Union was launched by local people in 1996. It acts as a local bank (in fact it is the only bank left in the area), providing the opportunity for people to save and access cheap loans.
The credit union is run entirely by volunteers.
Membership is open to anyone who lives in Pitsmoor / Burngreave. Current membership stands at around 160. We are financially sound and have been able to offer loans to members in excess of £2,000.
We need to expand to meet the growing needs and expectations of local people. Our aim is to take on shop front premises and employ paid staff so that we can provide a better service to our members. We are looking to Burngreave New Deal for Communities to support this aim.
However we are desperately short of volunteers to join the Board of Directors and to run collection points and take on other tasks. We are looking for committed enthusiastic volunteers with a bit of time to spare either during the day or evenings.
No particular skills are needed as we can arrange training.
If you are interested in becoming actively involved with the Credit Union, or would like to become a member then come along to our Annual General Meeting at the Furnival cafe, Verdon Street, on Saturday 20th April at 11am, or for more information phone Phil Sadler, Chairperson, on 2423478.
