Chief Executive and Chair of the New Deal Partnership Board announce their resignations

The Messenger has learnt that the Chair of the New Deal Partnership Board, councilor Steve Jones, has announced his plans to step down in May to spend more time with his constituancy. At the same time Mithu Komarnyckyj, the Chief Executive is planning to leave at the end of her assessment period. The loss of these two critical posts has raised fears that the whole New Deal programme may be at risk.

BCAF is urging residents to attend its Extraordinary General Meeting on April 13th, 11am, Verdon Street Rec, called following the recent New Deal decision to use the council as its employer instead of BCAT. The meeting was lively and well attended and heard many calls for unity.
