Editorial
The Messenger aims to be the voice of the Burngreave Community. We have been funded to help communications, keep people informed, help them put their point of view and to get people involved as the New Deal attempts to build a new partnership.
As we approach our third anniversary we are making plans to help more people use the Messenger, provide IT and media training and give local organisations and businesses more support. All are welcome at our monthly management meetings.
We, like all publically funded projects, aren't allowed to campaign politically, but our purpose is to represent the concerns, hopes and actions taken by people living and working in Burngreave. Sometimes this involves challenging existing decisions and authorities but we always aim to be balanced and fair.
The Messenger is written and managed by volunteers, all from the local area. Our hope is that we'll help create mutual respect by ensuring that everyone's opinion can be heard, that problems are uncovered and that the true story of the great efforts and achievements of Burngreave is told. So if you have a part of the story to tell, get in touch with the Messenger!
