A healthy, happy Eid

In December over 40 women with disabilities from the Somali, Asian and Yemeni community met to celebrate Eid at an event organised by community health workers Fatima Musa and Chetna Patel.
After enjoying a nutritious lunch there were sessions on depression, womens health, herbalism, massage and an energetic chairobics session.

Sado from the Somali Womens Disability Scheme said 

'I found the sessions enjoyable, especially the chairobics. It was informative being able to ask questions about depression in a friendly relaxed atmosphere'

Misbah from the Asian Women’s Disability group said, 'The event gave women the opportunity to learn and participate and gain answers about their own health needs. More events like this are needed'

Follow up health activity sessions are being planned for both the Somali and Asian Women’s Disability groups with Recreation services.
