Editorial - July 2002

By the Messenger team

Didn’t you say Goodbye?

After last months edition we’ve been able to agree gap funding with the New Deal for this and one more issue of the Messenger. That will come out in August and if you have something you want to tell people in Burngreave, the copy deadline will be July 17th.

Spread the Word
At the end of May we put in a detailed proposal for the Messenger’s future; more outreach work; training; and publicity services. A full version of the proposal is available on our website.

As we go to press, at the end of June, we’ve just heard that the proposal needs more work and won’t be ready for the next New Deal Partnership Board meeting so we’re unsure what the future holds. Again.

The Burngreave Messenger is a community newspaper, funded by New Deal, with editorial independence. We aim to increase and encourage communication in Burngreave.
Each edition is put together by an editorial team who write articles not otherwise credited. The editorial team for each issue is chosen at the monthly management meetings. The next management meeting is on July 31st, 6.30pm , Abbeyfield Park House, all are welcome.

This month’s issue was produced by the Editorial team:
Lisa Swift, Andrew Green, Mark Lankshear, Rob Smith, Shaffaq Mohammed, Ian Clifford, Richard Belbin, Gaby Spinks, Martin Currie Kim Streets and Chris Huculak.
Desk Top Publishing: Carl Rose

Website: Mark Lankshear, Alan Dawson
