SHAIPS 2 has been published. It shows that while health overall has got slightly better since SHAIPS 1 in 1994, the gap between affluent and deprived areas has widened. For instance, in 1994 there were four times as many people who had had a stroke in the worst electoral ward than the best, in 2000 it was eight times as many.
